~Pink/Green Engagement Theme~

Last 17th January 2010, my sister’s engagement day was held at our family home in Kepala Batas, Kedah. Quite a ceremony I should say since we are used to a small private one.

My sister requested ( ordering me actually :P ) for pink and green theme for the hantaran. At first, she wanted me to make bunga dulang using q-dip material but I opted for nylon stocking instead because it is only an engagement ceremony, not the big day yet. We save the best for last

I used two tone stockings to make the roses. Then I combined it with green stocking leaves, green glitter grass and dark pink flowers. Also, a bit of pink and green beads here and there.

This Sirih Junjung or Betel leaves arrangement is also done by me. Haha, looks more to flower arrangement since I used lots of flowers instead of the leaves!

Perhaps I should attend a class to improve.

Anyway, I turn this purple satin into two big flowers using newspapers and rubber bands. I tidied it up with pins and added ribbons to the centre core. Nothing much but still I like it best.

As for this praying mat/sejadah, I folded it into a fan. Simple and hassle free Time was a factor too due to my last- minute -work habit :P

The Ferrero Roche comes with a box therefore I simply put a ribbon on it and tadaa! :P My sister was a bit upset though because she wanted me to refashioned into grapes. Due to lack of material and my lazyness I didn’t do it.

However, this towel was really a headache for me. I’m running out of ideas on what to do with the towel and stayed up until 2 a.m but to no avail. Thank god next morning, on the engagement day itself I had a notion to turn the towel into this erm…fruits. Don’t ask me, I don’t even know what fruit is this. Maybe Pomelos?

And finally, my sister bought 7 of this cute glass containers for RM3.50 each. I decorated it with pink lace and white sequins. Inside, my sister wrapped chocolates and potpourris together in green cloth.

All in all, I am satisfied with my work although it is simple. Sometimes, simplicity is the best

~Bunga dulang Gold~

~Black and White Theme~

Sorry for not updating frequently. I’ve been busy lately. .With Eid-Ul-Fitri and exams and lazying around

Well, all pictures below are taken from a relative’s engagement ceremony. The tray flowers are made by me using black and white nylon stockings..I added up pearl beads,black ribbons and silver leaves to the arrangement.

So,who says black and white is dull??

~Red and white wedding theme~

It seems that red and white is the ‘IN’ colour for wedding lately.

Last weekend, a brother of my friend get married and chose red and white as his wedding theme. For the last few weeks, along with my friend,i’ve been working hard to make the bunga telur and bunga dulang (wedding items flowers).

All in all, we are able to make 100 pieces of bunga telur and 13 bunga dulang.Phew,lucky we’re able to make it in time!

We had like,around 3 and a half weeks only before the wedding.

So,here are the pictures taken by my friend.I was unable to attend the wedding as i went back to my hometown.

I help to make the flowers only. The arrangement of the items is done by the family. Too bad i can’t arrange it myself..

Among the 13 items are cosmetics,shoes and fabric..

Well, I can say that I’m glad to help

~How to make Crystal dip flowers/Bunga dip~

Crystal dip flowers are widely used to decorate wedding items these days.However the process to make it are tedious.One need skills and patience in order to do it.This post is about how to make a simple dip flower

Things that you need to make dip flowers—>

Polystrene,scissor,pliers,floral tape,dip chemical,thinner,thread@wires,green leaves,bamboo stick and gold wires.

Bunga dip selalu digunakan untuk menghias hantaran kebelakangan ini.Namun,proses penghasilannya agak rumit.Kesabaran dan kebolehan diperlukan untuk menghasilkan bunga dip yang menarik.

Anda memerlukan–>polistrin,playar,pita pelilit,cecair dip,thinner.benang@dawai,daun,batang buluh dan dawai emas.

The first step is,to shape the gold wires into petals.

Langkah pertama,bentukkan dawai emas menjadi kelopak bunga.

The shape of the petals is achieved by bending the wires.You may changed it according to your desire.

Bengkokkan dawai untuk memperoleh bentuk kelopak yang diingini.Bentuk kelopak boleh divariasikan mengikut kemahuan dan kecekapan anda.

Shape as many petals as you want depending on how much petals you want to use in one flower. In this post,i’m going to use use 12 petals for a flower.

Bentukkan dawai mengikut jumlah yang dimahukan untuk menghasilkan sekuntum bunga. Contohnya,saya menggunakan 12 kelopak untuk sekuntum bunga.

Dip the petals into the chemical and take it out.You will get a thin layer of the crystal dip following exactly the outline of the petals.Do it slowly and carefully,like handling soap bubbles as the dip may break.Use thinner to dilute the dip chemical if it becomes thicker.The chemical becomes thicker when exposed to air for a long time.

Celupkan kelopak bunga ke dalam larutan dip kristal.Anda akan mendapati 1 lapisan nipis dip kristal terbentuk mengikut bentuk dawai.Keluarkan dengan perlahan-lahan dan berhati-hati kerana lapisan itu mudak pecah/koyak. Gunakan Thinner untuk melarutkan dip kristal yang memejal disebabkan terdedah kepada udara terlalu lama.

Next,let the petals dry out on the polystrene.You may also add glitters to the petals while the dip is still wet for glamourous touch.

Seterusnya,biarkan kelopak-kelopak itu kering dengan menjemurkannya di atas polistrin.Anda juga boleh meletakkan perada ke atas kelopak semasa ia masih basah untuk kemasan lebih glamor.

After that,take the petals and combined it together to make a flower.Ensure that the petals are properly dried before you combine them.Here,for the centre part, I used 3 petals.

Selepas itu,ambil kelopak-kelopak tadi dan cantumkannya untuk menjadi bunga.Pastikan kelopak bunga itu kering sepenuhnya.Di sini,saya menggunakan 3 kelopak untuk bahagian tengah bunga.

And for the middle part i used 4 petals.

DAn untuk bahagian tengah,saya menggunakan 4 kelopak.

Continue joining the petals together until you achieved something like this :

Teruskan mencantumkan kelopak-kelopak itu sehingga anda mendapat hasil sebegini :

Tidy up the stalk with floral tape.

Kemaskan tangkai bunga dengan pita pelilit.

Afterwards,take the bamboo stick and join it to the flower using flower tape.

Kemudian,ambil batang buluh dan cantumkan kepada bunga menggunakan pita pelilit.

Do not forget to put the leaves as you go along the way.

Jangan lupa untuk meletakkan daun semasa melilit batang buluh tersebut.

Continue taping until the end.

Teruskan melilit sehingga hujung batang buluh.

The flower look like this when it is done.This is a simple example only.You can add more decorative materials (ribbons,beads and etc.) to it to make bunga telor/bunga pahar.

Bunga yang sudah siap adalah seperti gambar di bawah.Ini adalah contoh yang rigkas dan mudah sahaja.Anda boleh meletakkan pelbagai hiasan pada bunga (riben,manik dan lain-lain) jika ingin menhasilkan bunga telor/bunga pahar dip.

For a simple one like this,simply make a dozen or so and arrange it in a vase.

It makes your house looks lovely and adds freshness to it

Bunga dip ringkas ini boleh juga disusun di dalam pasu hiasan dan dijadikan penyeri rumah.
